2015 National Volunteer Week was April 12-18; this is a time set aside to recognize, celebrate and thank volunteers and the differences they make in our communities.
At AnswerFirst, we are committed to working with several local and national charities via financial support and volunteer hours contributed by our team members. Champions For Children is one of the various charities that we enjoy supporting. CFC is a Tampa-based charity that has a strong positive impact in our community. The Champions For Children’s website describes the organization best:
“CFC has been helping children and strengthening families through education and treatment programs since 1977. Through these programs, parents receive hands-on training, support and the information needed to face the many challenges and pleasures of raising healthy, happy and well-adjusted children.”
Each year, Champions For Children sets up and runs a Holiday Store. The CFC Holiday Store provides parents and caregivers who are in need of assistance during the holidays a place to “shop” for their children for free. AnswerFirst team members love to participate in this annual event. AF Team Members are encouraged to bring in toys as donations and to take part of a scheduled shift to be involved in toy sorting, wrapping, shopping assistance or break down of the store.
AnswerFirst is honored to have been selected by Champions For Children as the 2015 Volunteer Organization of the Year.
Senior Business Development Coordinator, Teri Erickson, said,
We love working with Champions For Children. They are an exceptional organization making a huge difference for the less fortunate families in Tampa Bay. We are extremely honored to have been chosen as the Volunteer Organization of the Year by CFC – we are one of many companies that make contributions to their mission and, having worked alongside those other companies, we accept this award on behalf of all of them. It is our collective effort that makes an impact; not any single contributor could do it alone. We’re proud to say we support CFC, its vision and its efforts and will continue to do so in the future. Thank you, Champion For Children, for who you are and what you do for our community.”
