AnswerFirst's Penny Herron volunteering at the Holiday Store.Champions For Children is a Tampa-based charity that has a strong positive impact in the local community.

The Champions For Children’s website describes the organization:

“CFC has been helping children and strengthening families through education and treatment programs since 1977.  Through these programs, parents receive hands-on training, support and the information needed to face the many challenges and pleasures of raising healthy, happy and well-adjusted children.  The organization is guided by a voluntary board with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds and, over the years, this board, members of the organization and volunteers have helped thousands of families throughout Hillsborough County.”

Each year, Champions For Children, with the help of people in the community, sets up and runs a Holiday Store.  The CFC Holiday Store provides parents and caregivers who are in need of assistance during the holidays a place to “shop” for their children for free.  The Holiday Store is made possible by businesses that sign-up to be donation box locations and ask their employees to help by getting involved, donating and volunteering.  AnswerFirst team members love to participate in this annual event.  Employees are encouraged to bring in toys as donations and to take part of a scheduled shift to be involved in toy sorting, wrapping, shopping assistance or break down of the store.

Business Development Manager, Penny Herron, said,

Champions For Children and AnswerFirst both envision a world where children are no longer abused and strong families are central to the success of our communities. CFC’s history has shown that this goal is attainable and we’re seeing their mission fulfilled each and every day in our community.  We love working with Champions For Children on their Annual Holiday Store; we collect great toys and have a blast with every aspect of the holiday store setup and operation.”
