AnswerFirst Communications, an international telephone answering service and customer service solutions company specializing in answering & messaging services, inbound email processing, virtual receptionist and call center solutions, announced this week that one of their Business Development Coordinators, Teri Erickson, participated in the Muscular Dystrophy Association Annual Lock-Up Event in Tampa, FL.
According to the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s website, the MDA is a nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. The Association also provides comprehensive health care and support services, advocacy and education. The MDA combats neuromuscular diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive medical and support services, and far-reaching professional and public health education. To participate in the MDA Lock-Up event, local executives and community leaders agree to be “arrested” for having a “big heart”. The “arrested” participants raise funds by having their friends, family, coworkers and other contributors donate cash for “bail” money. All of the proceeds go directly to the MDA and, as a result, the event raises thousands of dollars for people with neuromuscular diseases.
Teri Erickson, one of AnswerFirst’s Business Development Coordinators, stated, “The MDA Lock-Up is a unique event with a very neat premise. My participation in this year’s event gave me the opportunity to rally my friends and family for the financial support of a great cause while also allowing me to meet and interact with people that are affected by various neuromuscular diseases. It was an honor and privilege to be involved and contribute; I’m looking forward to doing it again next year.”
