According to its website, the Building Florida’s Future Summit was a one-day summit to discuss the future of West and Central Florida in addition to the release of the 2013 Florida Chamber’s Trade and Logistics Study, which lays out a strategic vision of Florida’s future. The summit featured presentations and panel discussions on transportation, infrastructure, economic development, workforce, education and trade by regional and national economic leaders. Speakers included Tampa Mayor, Bob Buckhorn, as well as the keynote speaker, former Governor of Pennsylvania, Ed Rendell. Governor Rendell is also a skilled author and a visionary that supports the development of a more aggressive American economic model. The BFF Summit is a partnership between the Florida Chamber of Commerce, Workforce Florida, Bank of America, Tampa Bay Partnership, Tampa Port Authority and Tampa Bay Trade & Protocol Council.
